More expected from Mayor

How ridiculous was Mayor Tony Allen's attempt to gain publicity in last Wednesday's paper? Not only writing a long-winded letter to the editor to express his personal opinions, but backing it with a very large (ratepayer funded?) advertisement on the next page that appeared to be nothing more than a personal attack on the editor. He somehow thought that just because he had taken the time to get his media officer to write the attack, it would somehow end up in the news pages?

We expect more from our Mayor and I suggest that if Cr Allen needs publicity in the future, he should try something positive, like fixing the issue with the toilets in Twyford Hall or starting on stage two of Spencer Park, so that council can be celebrated, not condemned.
