White's a team to be reckoned with

2/07/2008 1:15:00 PM
Merimbula under 9s white coached by Mark Pentecost is showing huge potential and is becoming a team to be reckoned with.

Since the start of the soccer season they have improved immensely and have shown great ability.

Their excellent communication, fast ball play and constant pressure allows them to take control of the game even against undefeated teams such as Merimbula Green who they played on Sunday coming out on top.

Under 9s whites took control of the game early with Jack McGuire, Kiah Miller, Jai Pentecost and Jarrod Armstrong pushing forward with great tackles and follow through.

The defence from Cooper Salisbury and Taylor Griep showed the way with good team work only allowing one goal to be scored against them.

Trevor Coombes, Trent Casey and Billy Doneman provided highlights with their excellent goal scoring abilities with a total of seven goals scored between them. It is great to see the team getting on the field and having a good time.

Merimbula Soccer Football Club would like to wish all teams traveling to Canberra this weekend for the Kanga Cup every success.

This is a wonderful opportunity for all involved. Good luck and we look forward to hearing how the week progressed for you all.
